IN 2012, THANKS TO EXTENSIVE VINEYARD ACQUISITIONS, LAHOFER BECAME ONE OF THE LARGEST WINE PRODUCERS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC. IN THE ZNOJMO VINE REGION, THE COMPANY NOW FARMS ABOUT FOUR HUNDRED AND THIRTY HECTARES OF VINEYARDS IN NINE MUNICIPAL CADASTRAL AREAS.
The vineyards are used for growing nearly all the main varieties of Central European grapes. The prevailing ones are Grüner Veltliner (16%), Rhine Riesling (13%), Müller Thurgau (10%), Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon, Moravian Muscat, Pinot Gris, Welschriesling, Neuburger, Gewürztraminer and Pálava. There are, however, also less known varieties to be found there such as Kerner, Dornfelder, Blauburger, Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains or Alibernet.
