Wines with original certification
The znojmo wine region has introduced the first appellation system in the Czech republic, the voc znojmo, for wines with original certification. This has placed the czech republic among successful markets practising aoc (appellation d'origine contrôlée) marketing.
The VOC Znojmo appellation system only applies to wines from the three most typical varieties grown in the Znojmo region: Sauvignon, Rhine Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, or their cuvées, with a typical and unified regional taste profile. The wines must come from selected and recognised vineyard estates.
Thanks to the stringent requirements for wine quality, the project has so far been joined by merely nineteen selected wineries, including LAHOFER. To be allowed to bear the VOC Znojmo label, the wine quality must pass a critical sensory examination. The VOC Znojmo label guarantees to the consumer a high standard of quality and a typical aroma and taste.
The easily comprehensible VOC label facilitates decisions of consumers and dealers: they can always predict and distinguish the special taste and aroma including the premium wine quality regardless of the particular producer.
The vintners of LAHOFER offer in their VOC series all three varieties that can be produced under the VOC label: Rhine Riesling, Sauvignon and Grüner Veltliner.
